A month or so ago, I embarked on a 21-day experiment with The Frame Technique. I learned it from an Aaron Doughty video and posted about it on my first day. Stay tuned and I'll tell you how to do it and share my results.
The most POWERFUL meditation for SETTING BOUNDARIES. This meditation will allow you feel safe in your own frame so that is easier for you to set boundaries and let go of people pleasing patterns. Listen to this meditation for 21 days and see how your life transforms. - Aaron Doughty
How to Do the Frame Technique
The Frame Technique involves breathing deeply and slowly, allowing yourself to fully relax. Then you stare intently at a candle flame while observing the distance between you and the flame and thinking about the distance between you and people with whom you need to set better boundaries.
He suggested that on the inhale you notice distances and on the exhale, you look at the periphery of the candle.
Here's What Happened for Me
I listened to the actual meditation twice. Then I started doing it on my own.
But I noticed that sometimes my relaxation was not as deep, so I lengthened the time for that, but also slowed down the voice in my head as I remembered him speaking s l o w l y.
It definitely helps with my sense of self, and boundaries - meaning, where i end and someone else begins. I think it has helped with setting boundaries, too.
In hindsight, I wish I had listened to the actual video meditation more often because I think there was something about the way he did it, that I did not replicate.
What do you think? Is this something you might try?
See you next time!
Joy is to be found in in stillness. To access it, you need to quiet the doubts, fears and other noise in your head, quiet down the noise of the world, and feel your connection to who you really are. Your deeper self is where joy resides. - Joanna Hennon
This month will be dedicated to Christmas magic, and the joy of the season is part of that. But to fully experience it, you can't run at Christmas the way you might in your normal life. You'll have to slow down & create moments of stillness each day. I hope to share the Christmas magic here, but sometimes I need a break after a 30-day blog challenge, so we'll see how it goes.
Thank you so much for spending the month of October with me!
I hope it went well for your blog. Do you feel good about the experience?
Just checked my stats and it looks like I had about 400 page views more than I had before the challenge and my blog post viewership, in general, is up 79%. I'll take it!
I'll look forward to writing with you again in 2024.
What will you be doing between now and then? I will dive into Christmas, of course, and I don't know how much I will blog.
When I do, it will be holiday-related. What about you?
See you next year. Meanwhile, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
P.S. This month's images have all been brought to you by the letters AI.
In my own journey to understand what it truly means to live from the heart, I've encountered various ideas and philosophies.
It's been a process of unlearning the years spent ignoring that inner voice. Recently, in the spiritual community, we've been hearing a lot about the concept of following our heart, but what does it really involve or require?
Recently, I came across a YouTube video with a channeled message from the angels, along with Anne Tucker's insightful translation and discussion of the message. This, in my opinion, opened up the topic in a whole new way, and I'm excited to share my understanding with you.
Living from the Heart
Living from the heart isn't just about making whimsical choices. It's a conscious shift from a mind-driven existence to a heart-centered one.
From a young age, we're conditioned to rely on our rational minds – to plan meticulously, overthink, and make decisions based on past experiences or external authorities.
These patterns often stem from a sense of insecurity that external influences have instilled in us. The world bombards us with messages that we can't trust ourselves, that something is amiss, and we need to conform to predefined norms.
As a result, we become trapped in our minds, and even when we hear the advice to 'follow your heart,' we process it through a mental filter.
Letting Our Hearts Lead the Way
The truth, as revealed in the channeled message, is that our minds were never meant to be the lead actors in our life's story.
They're essential, but their role is to serve the heart's desires, not overshadow them. True living from the heart involves noticing what brings us joy and excitement, and then using our minds to bring those heart-driven ideas into reality.
What do you think about this idea of living from the heart? If you're interested, here's how you might get started...
How to Start Letting Your Heart Lead
(1) Self-Reflection: Take some time to reflect on your life and how you are living it now.
Do you already make some choices based on your heart's desires, or do you mostly follow your mind's dictates?
(2)Try Mindfulness Practices: Meditation, deep breathing exercises, and moments of quiet self-reflection can help you connect with your inner self. These practices create a space for you to listen to your heart.
(3) Identify What Lights You Up: Pay attention to what truly brings you joy and excitement. Make a list of activities, hobbies, or interests that you've always loved or choose something new you'd like to explore.
(4) Set Clear Intentions: Once you've identified what brings you joy and excitement, set clear intentions for yourself.
What do you want to experience in your life, and how do you want to feel? Setting intentions provides direction for your heart's desires.
(5) Follow Your Inner Guidance: Trust your intuition. When faced with decisions, take a moment to quiet your mind and listen to your inner guidance. Your heart will often know what you need, even when it defies logic.
(6) Take Inspired Action: When your heart speaks, take inspired action. Don't overthink it; trust that your heart's desires are leading you toward a life you will love.
(7) Adjust as Needed: it's the mind that expects you to do it once and get it right thereafter. But the truth is, while living from the heart can become a way of life, it's not likely to be a perfect, linear path.
Here's a heart-centered meditation that may help you connect more deeply to your heart.
Try this Heart-Centered Meditation
Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable space where you can sit or lie down. Close your eyes and take a few deep, cleansing breaths to relax your body and mind.
Pay attention to your breath as it flows in and out. Feel the rise and fall of your chest with each breath. Imagine that with each inhale, you are drawing energy and light into your heart.
Picture a warm, radiant light at the center of your chest. This light represents your heart's energy. It's filled with love, compassion, and wisdom.
Imagine someone or something that fills your heart with love and gratitude. Maybe a loved one, a cherished memory, or a place of happiness.
As you think about it, allow the warm light in your heart to grow brighter and more expansive.
In your mind, open the doors of your heart wide. Imagine that your heart is a sanctuary where your true self lives.
Feel the love, courage, and authenticity within you. Allow this energy to radiate from your heart and fill your entire being.
As you bask in this heart-centered energy, ask your heart if there's any message or guidance it wants to share with you.
Listen for any subtle insights or feelings that arise. Trust that your heart has something to say, even if it isn't in words.
Now that your heart is open and connected, let yourself dream about the kind of life you want to create. What would it look like and feel like?
As you bring this meditation to a close, thank your heart for its wisdom and guidance, and for the connection you're feeling.
When you're ready, gently bring your awareness back to your physical environment. Open your eyes and take a moment to reflect on the meditation.
Exploring Living from the Heart
Thanks for exploring this idea with me. I'd love to know your thoughts.
See you tomorrow!
After a period of meditation, practitioners usually return to a waking state and their brain resumes how it normally functions during a waking state. However, this suggests that when you practice meditation regularly, you can maintain that feeling of wholeness and integrate it into your life.
In today's post, we'll talk a wee bit more about meditation...
The fact that meditation can lead to expansion, ascension and enlightenment is not news. But how long does it take?
Most experts and researchers have suggested that it takes many thousands of hours. But is that true? My guides say no. And the latest research seems to agree with them.
The article I referred to in yesterday's post, on effortless mindfulness, suggests that it might be the way we approach meditation or raising consciousness that affects how long it takes. But it also matters what the goal is.
Maybe we don't need to be masters, we just need to raise our frequency and our consciousness.
Deliberate Mindfulness includes one-pointed focus and nonjudgmentally observing the changing contents of our mind and body. On the other hand, Effortless Mindfulness shifts from focusing on the contents to discovering the context, an awareness that is already awake and free of suffering.
My Guidance When Asking about This
Meditation can help you become enlightened, but instead of needing 10,000 hours, you will be able to do it a lot faster now. Time is speeding up, so to speak, because the Great Awakening is beginning. And we need all hands on deck, so we will be helping you make progress faster than you might otherwise do.
On the other hand, don't rush yourself. Let us be the ones who speed up your ascension. All we need you to do is dedicate time every day to meditate and when you do, deepen your awareness of the space around you. The between spaces. And the connecting spaces.
As we grow more comfortable with resting in awareness, ... we will slowly come to see that this spacious awareness is who we truly are.
In my opinion, this magic described in the quote above, which can happen LONG before you have put in thousands of hours, is what makes meditation a superpower. Watch this video below to get advice on how to use this superpower during your day...
How to Get Started
One of the things I really appreciate about this video is that he starts with telling you how to ease into meditating every day, but then goes on to tell you how to incorporate this practice into your daily lifestyle, even when you can only take a minute or two here and there.
Over to you. What do you think about using meditation as part of your own daily routine?
See you next time!
Have you ever taken a walk in nature and felt a profound sense of peace, as if just buy being among the trees you were able to release your stress, tension, and anxiety? In the past few weeks, I've been exploring a deeper sense of connectedness and energy that I tap into sometimes, in the world outside my home. Last month I was inspired by an article I read on Medium.com and some of Kyle Cease's videos on YouTube.
Since then, I have been exploring the richness of the experience I can have just by feeling into the space around me. Though most of the time, I am at home, I have noticed that I experience more profound, and sometimes more soothing moments when I do venture outside.
What's in the Space?
Have you ever thought about what's in the space around you?
There is something vibrant and alive connecting everything - us to each other, us to the trees, the trees to each other, etc.
Let's try an experiment...
A Walk in Nature
Imagine walking through those trees in the first picture and immediately feeling free of all stress, tension, anxiety or any other bothersome feelings or negative energy.
Breathe slowly and deeply, and just let it all go. Spend some time really feeling into what that walk would be like.
Exploring the Space Where You Are
Now, bring that relaxation back into the room you're in, and close your eyes. Once they are closed, notice your body breathing. Just notice it.
If thoughts come to you, imagine them floating right on by you. And then go back to your breathing.
Next, I want you to listen to the sounds around you. Coming from anywhere in the room you're in.
Now imagine the space that the sounds are in. And hone in on the space around you.
See if you feel at all connected to it. Stay as you are for a minute or so and notice what you notice about what you feel.
Be the observer for a moment, as you tune in.
What Did You Experience?
This experiment blended guidance from Kyle Cease and a mindfulness exercise I found in that article I mentioned. The article is about effortless mindfulness and I highly recommend that you read it and try that exercise. You can find it here - mindfulness article.
I tried both suggestions separately. In Kyle's exercise, you're just noticing what you feel.
And after really getting quiet and still, I felt love in the space around me. And a deeper connection than I usually feel.
When I did the mindfulness exercise, and got to the part where the awareness notices the one who is aware, I felt like I was lifting up and going into the space, and even becoming the space.
I felt like I was unembodied. And I had this sense that I was so much more than I think I am.
I'd love to know what your experience was like with either exercise.
See you next time!
I've always taken any experience of spiritual warfare as a sign that I must be on the right track. But that's a compliment I'd rather do without, frankly.
If you're a lightworker, doing all you can to raise your frequency and shine your light bright, expect to attract both positive and negative attention. And if you've been feeling attacked, here's what to do...
How to Identify Spiritual Warfare
It may vary by lightworker, but the goal would always be to render you ineffective, or to make you give up, so you might not feel quite like yourself, or may even feel sick. You might find it harder to connect with God or the universe, or your intuition.
And when you use your healing techniques, it might feel like they aren't working. You also might be experiencing distractions in the form of challenges popping up in your life.
I know it sounds a lot like normal life in some ways. but for me, it often follows a positive shift or powerful healing experience. Though it may have always been true, my guides tell me that now, when you heal anything in yourself, light and healing go out to the earth and to its people.
So if lightworkers can be sidelined, darkness wins. Spoiler alert - can't win, won't win, but they may not know that.
Another sign, for me, is that it all seems to happen at once, and doesn't go away until I do something about it.
What inspired this post is that for the past 3 or 4 days, after a couple of empowering, spiritual mountaintop experiences, one thing after another started going wrong. I'm sick right now, out of the blue, but that's just one of the things that have happened.
And I prayed about it, and threw healing at it, but couldn't seem to shake it. For me, this is the biggest sign of all. When I can't meditate, connect to God, or feel healing as it happens, something is wrong.
The thing to keep in mind is that you're not alone. It's happening to the entire lightworker collective, I believe. And there are things you can do, that will help.
Wear or Carry these Crystals
(1) Clear Quartz - most people who have any crystals at all will have clear quartz. And it can be programmed both to protect and to heal you in the specific ways that you need.
Hold it in your hand and set the intention for what you need it to do, and then keep it on your pocket, or place it nearby.
(2) Obsidian - this crystal absorbs the negative energy that is aimed at you, and then emits positive energy to replace it. It also will repel negative energy in the future, if you have it on you or near you.
I also recommend putting some near your front door if possible, because any energy trying to come in, won't be allowed past your front door.
(3) Rose Quartz - I recommend this crystal because of its high frequency. It will both deflect negative energy and transmit positive energy.
And it will help to heal your heart and keep it open, even when it seems like it's all coming against you.
There are other protection crystals, too, of course, and you can do a search on them in case there are some you would rather keep close than these I have mentioned here.
